  • Early Morning Hotel Pick-up: Your adventure begins very early in the morning with hotel pick-up in Cusco. Travel by tourist transportation through the scenic South Valley, passing traditional Andean villages, cultivated fields, and breathtaking mountain landscapes as the sun rises over the Andes.
  • Breakfast: After approximately two hours of travel, arrive at a local community where a nutritious breakfast is served. Take time to relax, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and prepare for the hike ahead.
  • Transfer to the Trailhead: Following breakfast, continue by vehicle to the starting point of the trek. Before beginning the hike, your guide will provide safety instructions, explain the route, and offer recommendations for walking comfortably at high altitude.
  • Hike to Rainbow Mountain: Begin the gradual ascent toward Rainbow Mountain, walking through spectacular high-altitude landscapes surrounded by colorful valleys, crystal-clear streams, and grazing alpacas and llamas. Along the trail, your guide will share information about the geology of the mountain, local traditions, and the importance of the surrounding region to Andean communities.
  • As you continue climbing, you'll enjoy incredible views of the majestic Ausangate Mountain, whose snow-covered peaks dominate the horizon. The hike offers numerous opportunities to rest, take photographs, and appreciate the peaceful beauty of the Peruvian Andes.
  • Arrival at Rainbow Mountain: Reach the summit of Rainbow Mountain at over 5,000 meters above sea level, where you'll witness the breathtaking natural stripes of red, turquoise, yellow, green, and ochre created by millions of years of mineral deposits. Enjoy free time to admire the scenery, capture unforgettable photographs, and experience the unique atmosphere of one of Peru's most famous natural wonders while your guide explains the geological formation and significance of the mountain.
  • Return Hike: After spending time at the viewpoint, begin the descent along the same trail, enjoying a different perspective of the colorful landscapes and surrounding mountains as you return to the trailhead.
  • Lunch: Board the transportation and travel back to the local restaurant, where a well-deserved buffet lunch awaits. Relax and enjoy traditional regional cuisine while sharing your experience with fellow travelers.
  • Return to Cusco: Following lunch, begin the return journey to Cusco through the scenic Andean countryside. Arrive back in the city during the late afternoon, where the tour concludes with drop-off near the historic center.
