Hike to the Mysterious Fortress Above the Clouds

Embark on an unforgettable journey to Waqrapukara, one of Cusco’s most fascinating and least-explored archaeological sites. Perched dramatically atop a mountain overlooking deep canyons and breathtaking Andean landscapes, Waqrapukara—meaning “Horn Fortress” in Quechua—is a remarkable blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty.

Believed to have served as both a ceremonial sanctuary and a strategic fortress, this impressive Inca site features agricultural terraces, ceremonial plazas, temples, and striking rock formations that resemble the horns of a bull. Far from the crowds, this full-day adventure combines scenic hiking, spectacular mountain views, and the opportunity to discover one of Peru’s hidden archaeological treasures while experiencing the peaceful beauty of the Andes.
